Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 2026
AkShoot.ly (“the Platform”) is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and the guidelines of the National Privacy Commission (NPC).
1. Information We Collect
Photographer Accounts
- Email address and authentication credentials
- Display name, bio, and avatar
- GCash number, Ko-fi URL, and Instagram handle (voluntarily provided)
Photo Metadata
- Bib numbers assigned to competition participants
- Climber names (as provided by photographers)
- Instagram handles (as provided by photographers)
Usage Data
- Search queries
- Photo views and downloads
- Anonymous session identifiers (not linked to personal identity)
2. Purpose of Collection
- To operate the photo gallery and enable search functionality
- To display photographer profiles and tip/payment links
- To generate analytics for photographers and platform operators
- To improve the platform based on usage patterns
3. Lawful Basis for Processing
Photographer data: Consent, provided upon account creation.
Climber data (bib numbers, names, handles): Legitimate interest in operating a searchable event photography platform. Climbers at public and semi-public competitions have a reasonable expectation of being photographed.
Usage data: Legitimate interest in platform analytics and improvement.
4. Data Subject Rights
Under RA 10173, you have the right to:
- Access your personal information held by the Platform
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of your data (including tagged photos)
- Object to the processing of your personal information
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address listed below. We will respond to all requests within 30 days.
5. Photo Storage & Versions
Each photo uploaded to the Platform is stored in two forms:
- Watermarked preview:a downscaled copy carrying the photographer's watermark. Shown across gallery pages, search results, and the photo lightbox preview.
- HD original: the unwatermarked, full-resolution file, made available via the Download HD action on a photo.
Both versions are publicly accessible once a photo is published on the Platform. Requesting removal deletes both the watermarked preview and the HD original from storage — after deletion, neither version is retrievable through the Platform.
6. Data Retention
Photographer account data is retained for as long as the account is active. Photo metadata is retained for as long as the associated photo remains on the Platform. Usage analytics are retained indefinitely in aggregated, non-identifiable form.
7. Security Measures
We implement reasonable security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure authentication via Supabase Auth, and Row Level Security policies on all database tables to prevent unauthorized access.
8. Third-Party Services
The Platform uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Supabase: Database and authentication (data stored in cloud infrastructure)
- Vercel: Web hosting and serverless functions
- Cloudflare: Image storage and content delivery
